Hope Knight

2018-2019 Junior High Conductor


 

Hope Knight teaches music and choral arts at William Allen Middle School in Moorestown, NJ. In addition, Hope teaches private voice lessons and works as a staff singer for Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, PA. Hope studied voice with Zehava Gal at Westminster Choir College, where she earned both her B.M. in Education and her M.M. in Voice Performance and Pedagogy. Past opera roles are Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Jo in Little Women, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Ms. Todd in Old Maid and the Thief.

 

She is currently a middle school choir director at William Allen Middle School in Moorestown, NJ, where she has be teaching since 2003. Her choirs include a Mixed Chorus and an Honor Choir. In addition, she teaches Intro to Songwriting and Intro to Guitar. Her choirs have performed at Phillies games, Flyers games, and Camden Riversharks games. Her choirs have also performed at Music in the Parks at Hershey Parks, often receiving Superior Ratings as well as best overall Vocal Music Program. Hope also had the pleasure of conducting the Salem County Honor Choir in the spring of 2018.

 

Prior to teaching at WAMS, Hope was the choir director and drama teacher at Burlington Twp. High School. Outside of teaching public school, Hope works a staff singer at the Church of the Redeemer, Bryn Mawr; she also teaches private voice lessons, and is a freelance classical musician.
