Romel McInnis

2018-2019 Senior High Conductor 


Romel McInnis is in his fifth year as Director of Choral Activities at Clearview Regional High School. Under his direction, the choirs have performed in festivals and competitions such as, Music in the Parks, Carnegie Hall, NJACDA High school Festival, and recenlty the NJMEA conference. Romel has conducted in concert with Dr. Christopher Thomas, participated in master classes throughout his undergraduate studies, and sings professionally in the Tristate area. Romel has led rehearsals and conducted in concert with the Rowan Concert Choir and Men’s Choir. At nineteen he auditioned for Marlena Malas, teacher of Luciano Pavarotti, and was accepted in the Chautauqua Institution.

Mr. McInnis performed the Faure Requiem as the baritone soloist when he was twenty-one years of age. Romel has received his Bachelor’s in Music Education with a concentration in voice from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and is in pursuit of his Masters in Choral Conducting at Rowan University. In the future, Romel plans on continuing his education to receive his Doctorate in Choral Conducting.

Mr. McInnis is extremely excited about the opportunity to conduct the 61st South Jersey Senior High Chorus. He is a past member of the chorus and hopes to continue the long tradition of excellence that the choir has shown.
